The Biggest Family Fights in ‘Real Housewives’ History

The Housewives are known for some epic feuds and explosive tiffs, but sometimes the drama hits too close to home – especially considering many of the Housewives have family ties.

From Kyle Richards’ feuds with sisters Kathy Hilton and Kim Richards to Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga and Joe Gorga’s high profile brawls, there has been no lack of family drama on screen when it comes to the Housewives.

Inspired by season 13 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, we’ve decided to put together a list of some of the biggest family fights in Real Housewives history.

Teresa Giudice and Melissa and Joe Gorga

What is a list of Real Housewives family feuds without Teresa Giudice and the Gorgas. Over the 13 seasons of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Bravo fans far and wide have watched the disintegration of Giudice’s relationship with her brother, Joe Gorga, and her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga.

All of their arguments have led to an explosive thirteenth season, which sees Melissa and Joe skipping Teresa’s wedding with Luis Ruela. According to sources that spoke with People, the Gorgas made the decision to miss the wedding after Giudice brought up rumours about their marriage. “Teresa betrayed them in a way that’s unforgivable,” a source said. “They’re not going to celebrate Teresa’s new marriage when all she does is try to tear apart theirs.”

As previewed in the season 13 trailer, Giudice says that Melissa “always wanted to keep my brother and I apart. She got her wish.”

Tune in to RHONJ season 13 on Tuesdays at 9ET on Slice, the Global TV app or STACKTV with Amazon Prime Video Channels, fuboTV, Rogers Ignite TV and Ignite SmartStream.

Kyle Richards and Kathy Hilton

Sisters Kathy Hilton and Kyle Richards aren’t so hunky dory after an explosive season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. After Hilton’s infamous alleged meltdown during the cast’s vacation in Aspen in season 12 (which was exposed by none other than Lisa Rinna, who has since left the show), the siblings still aren’t on speaking terms, according to Page Six.

“I haven’t seen her in a while, I have not seen her in a while,” Richards told the outlet. “Things are not great since the reunion to be honest.” She then went on to reveal that their tense relationship is “very” upsetting, and she hopes it won’t make things too awkward as they film season 13.

This isn’t the first time Richards and Hilton have famously stopped talking. In fact, they lost contact for years after Richards produced American Woman, a television show based on their late mother, Kathleen Richards.

Whitney Rose and Heather Gay

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City co-stars and second cousins Whitney Rose and Heather Gay – nicknamed “Bad Weather” – were once tied at the hip, until a fight on season 3 made everything go up in flames.

During a trip to Scottsdale, Rose and Gay found themselves in a pretty epic feud. Rose brought up that Angie Harrington claimed Lisa Barlow was sleeping with a man there for courtside tickets, but when Rose’s bestie Heather Gay wouldn’t back her story, it just added fuel to the fire. Rose refused to back down until eventually Gay shoved her and yelled, “F*** you for calling me a liar.”

In an interview with Us Weekly, Gay said that, “the way it just disappeared overnight, I feel like our friendship just went up in smoke and I’m not sure how to repair that.”

It’s tough to say where they’re at today, but you can watch more of their friendship playout on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip season 3, which airs on Tuesdays at 10ET on Slice, the Global TV app or STACKTV with Amazon Prime Video Channels, fuboTV, Rogers Ignite TV and Ignite SmartStream.

Kyle Richards also has an ongoing feud with her other sister, Kim Richards. Not only were both Kyle and Kim child stars, but they also both appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Throughout their time on (and off) the show, the Richards flip flopped between huge falling outs and heartwarming reconciliations.

From their memorable fights on RHOBH (which again often featured Rinna in some capacity) to Kim’s journey with sobriety, the Richards sisters’ relationship has been under pressure for quite some time now. In fact, Kyle has opened up about how it can be “very difficult” to film with her sisters.

“When my sister Kim was on, it was great, and then it was awful,” Kyle said on The Morning Show, according to People. “It was one of the worst times on the show for me ever. With Kathy, I was like, ‘It’s gonna be great, we’re gonna have fun.’ And we really did last season. And of course, something happened this season but we are sisters. We’re blood. So, we’ll always come back together again at the end of the day.”

Teresa Giudice doesn’t only fight with her brother and sister-in-law, but she even had some pretty extreme on-screen blowups with her cousin, Kathy Wakile. Wakile left the show after season 7, and since then, she’s had an estranged relationship with both Giudice and Melissa Gorga.

“My family came on the show behind my back, and that was the worst thing that could have ever happened to me,” Giudice claimed at BravoCon in 2019. “That’s why I don’t speak to Kathy anymore. I’ll never speak to her or to Rosie [Pierri] ever again because I don’t want family like that.”

Wakile, on the other hand, has said that she’s still open to reconciling, according to Us Weekly. “My door is always open, you know, I never closed doors, but, who knows,” Wakile said. “I hope that everybody’s doing well. You only wish the best for people.”

Dina and Caroline Manzo

Teresa Giudice’s family drama isn’t the only family feud on RHONJ. Show alums and sisters, Dina Cantin (formerly Dina Manzo) and Caroline Manzo have been caught up in a tiff for years. In June 2020, Thomas Manzo (Dina’s ex) was charged for allegedly hiring a hitman with ties to the mob to attack her current husband, David Cantin, in 2015 as part of a home invasion, People reports. Caroline Manzo is married to Thomas’ brother, Albert Manzo, and she has expressed support for her brother-in-law, which has once again put Dina and Caroline’s feud in the public eye.

Caroline reportedly even wrote a letter to a judge to advocate for Thomas, according to Page Six.

The family sparring also extended to Caroline’s son (and Dina’s nephew), Albie Manzo, after Dina accused him of using his podcast, Dear Albie, to make money off of their family drama. “This isn’t about family drama,” Albie clapped back. “This is a ‘right and wrong’ situation.”
