Diamonds really are a girl’s best friend, and this year brands like Mach & Mach, a recently blogger-approved shoe brand, and Alexander Wang brought this statement to life with the embellishments of diamanté on bags and shoes. While this trend originated specifically with jewellery, we’ll be seeing more subtle sparkling details on accessories and clothing in the coming months.

Shopping the back-to-school look won’t just be for September; heck, it won’t even be just for students! In 2022, we’re channelling our inner prep school student with cable knits, varsity jackets, pleated skirts, oxfords and striped polos. While Miu Miu solidified the preppy comeback, we can’t help but think of the It Girl fashion of the Gossip Girl reboot. Shoutout to the students of Constance Billard-St. Jude’s School.

Could it be a branch of Y2K-inspired fashion, or is it the result of the resurgence of workout videos? Whatever the case is, designers and retailers alike are committed to cropped tops — be it bra tops, cropped blouses, shrunken knits and shrugs or even cardigans. Why cover up when you can just show off your midriff? For inspo, we suggest taking note of Sandy Liang’s Spring 2022 Ready To Wear and opt for a cropped cardigan and low-rise miniskirt.

Note to self: invest in a blazer. We don’t just mean a set of oversized pants and a blazer. Labels like Michael Kors and Fendi are giving the menswear-inspired trend of the pantsuit a significant makeover with some sexy, ultra-feminine details and additions. Think: a matching bra, or perhaps accessories to dress up the ensemble. What we love most about this timeless trend is that it has dramatically evolved, so you can rock it for almost any occasion.

Show off those legs with versatile micro skirts

Reformation

Great lengths often means a lot of leg which also calls for super short skirts. Think: Paris Hilton in the early 2000s. While designers are choosing to remix this trend with pleats and low-rise cuts (scary, we know), mini skirts of all the ranges are sure to hit the racks to inspire versatile looks from street style to evening wear.
