If you’re a Real Housewife, you need to know how to bring the drama, bring the fun and bring the fashion. Unfortunately, as we’ve learned over the years, some housewives are more deft in that last department than others.
While most of us can agree that legends like Bethenny Frankel, Yolanda Hadid and Kenya Moore always present beautiful, tailored fits at the party, others reach for more outlandish fashion to make a statement. From glitter overload to pant-less outfits, here are 10 housewives who have proved they have the most outrageous style over the years.

Teresa Giudice, RHONJ
A Jersey original, Teresa is all about tight outfits, tiny skirts and sparkles galore. Her style is probably best described as “over the top,” although she can have her subtle moments, too. Her recent wedding dress was definitely not one of them, though. She paired her custom-made, strapless mermaid gown with a sky-high tiara and a heart-etched veil with the engraving “sempre insieme,” AKA “always together.”

Mary Cosby, RHOSLC
No one loves dressing from head-to-toe in one colour more than Mary Cosby, and although it sometimes comes together, more often than not it just doesn’t. Gold tracksuits, odd hats, and extra jackets are all a part of the RHOSLC star’s repertoire. Add in her penchant for layering jewellery with zillions of sparkles, and sometimes it’s overkill.

Erika Jayne, RHOBH
Love or hate Erika’s fashion, you have to admit it’s one of the most outrageous styles in the entire franchise. Erika was one of the first housewives to travel with her own glam squad, and her looks are plenty thought-out if nothing else. From oversized tees and ponytails to fitted jackets and curls, her look is always worth talking about.

Dorit Kemsley, RHOBH
Dorit doesn’t know how to dress down, as all her years in Beverly Hills have shown us. More than once a newbie has commented on how underdressed they felt next to this housewife, and with good reason: she’s all about the designers. Sometimes it can be a lot, and other times it’s perfect. Add in her penchant for wild hairstyles and she’s definitely someone else whose fashion choices always get people chatting.

Larsa Pippen, RHOM
Larsa is known for heating up the Miami social scene, but sometimes it’s her outfits that really raise the temperature. The personality has worn some interesting bodysuits, show-stopping necklines, and awkward cut-outs over the years, and those choices haven’t always been flattering. Still, it’s fun to see her take risks rather than always play it safe.

Gizelle Bryant, RHOP
The ladies of Potomac are often criticized on social media for their collective style, but fans seem to agree that Gizelle is the worst offender. Although we’ve noticed she’s stepping up her game lately, we still have to call her out for some of her past questionable choices. If you’ve seen the series, you know we’re talking about those unflattering cuts, grandmother-inspired jackets and awkward adornments, among other unfashionable moments.

Alex McCord, RHONY
For the first four seasons of New York, this mother-of-two and her husband, Simon van Kempen, didn’t hide the fact that they wanted to climb the New York social ladder. They also made their love of fashion pretty clear. That love, however, never really translated with the other housewives or viewers. Over the years, Alex has worn some pretty risky outfits with unflattering cuts or quirky patterns that often made her the talk of the town.

Gretchen Rossi, RHOC
It’s no secret that Gretchen loves her dresses, and she knew how to rock them on RHOC. Sometimes those dresses looked gorgeous on her, but most of the time she failed to pay attention to how the neckline or pattern actually looked on her. As a result, she sometimes seemed as though she was living in the fashionable past, and it wasn’t always the most flattering look.

Sonja’s closet is the stuff of most people’s dreams. However, as her time on the show continued, it became clear that she could use a bit of an edit. We just can’t get those extra-large Channel panties out of our minds, and we definitely can’t forget that time she hosted a costume party – but forgot her pants. Not all of Sonja’s style is outrageous, but we can’t think of a housewife who wears taller hats, either.

Kim Zolciak, RHOA
Before leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta to helm her own spinoffs, Kim left her fashionable mark on the series. Whether it was good or bad is up to interpretation, but the personality has definitely had her share of outrageous, glittery outfits and revealing frocks over the years. Sometimes those frocks just looked like they weren’t made in her size, while other times they had too many extra bells and whistles for some viewers’ tastes.
