Bennett, 40, and Vaughan, 38 celebrated their nuptials with an intimate group of friends and family, enjoying a tailor-made experience. “When you’re part of the LGBTQ+ fam, not everything in the wedding space is for you yet,” Vaughan told People. Bennett also added that, “We realized that our wedding is also more than just about us. It’s about the entire community.” With that in mind, the pair opted to skip some more traditional wedding traditions. The couple did not walk down the aisle and didn’t want their guests seated at separate tables. Instead, Bennett and Vaughan chose to walk in from the beach and meet one another at the altar, with the song Vaughan wrote for Bennett playing in the background. As another sweet touch, Bennett tapped one of his closest friends, YouTuber Brian Tyler Cohen, to officiate the ceremony. After exchanging their vows, each groom placed a diamond-encrusted ring on the other’s hand. As for the wedding party? Their outfits were simple, “gender-neutral” black tuxes and white tuxes. Certain details in the wedding also honoured Bennett’s late mother, such as guests being dressed in various shades of white and the floral arrangements featuring white roses. “White flowers were her favorite,” Vaughan said. For the reception, guests sat at one big round table and enjoyed delicacies such as mahi mahi and more traditional fare like steak.
