The Critics Choice Awards – which highlights the best in television and film – brought out some of the most stylish stars in Hollywood. Red and black seemed to be the colours of the evening, as celebrities donned everything from crimson gowns to brooding black sheer numbers.
Check out some of the best-dressed celebs at the Critics Choice Awards below.
Michelle Yeoh made waves this year with Everything Everywhere All at Once, but she’s not stopping there, as she really wowed with her jaw-dropping red-and-black Carolina Herrera gown and sleek black Jimmy Choo heels, as The Daily Mail highlights. The flowy number boasts breathtaking crimson puffed-out sleeves atop a simple, yet stunning little black dress.
Nominated for their role in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Janelle Monáe donned a stunning sheer number with edgy hip cut-outs. Not only did they receive the SeeHer Award, but their black silk chiffon Vera Wang Haute gown put all eyes on them at the Critics Choice Awards.
Cut-outs definitely had their moment at the event, as you can see with Amanda Seyfried’s shimmering gold Dior Haute Couture dress. As PEOPLE reports, the dress was “cut from a single piece of twisted, fringed gold lamé chiffon.” Seyfried, who was nominated for her role in The Dropout, accessorized with some gold Stuart Weitzman Nudistcurve Hollywood heels and a thick, captivating statement necklace.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Angela Bassett had everyone on the Critics Choice Awards red carpet wrapped around her finger with this elegant velvet Christian Siriano gown, as The Hollywood Reporter details. Bassett really elevated the black-tiered look with an eye-catching gold choker and a leopard-print clutch.
Velvet also had its moment at the Critics Choice Awards, with Henry Golding’s dapper velvet suit. Golding brought an edge to the classic tux, opting for a deep blue shade and donning a black turtleneck underneath.
While many celebs on the carpet wore dark, muted tones, Elle Fanning opted for an eye-catching ruffled cream Alexander McQueen gown, Popsugar reports. With an intricate design and subtle cut-outs, Fanning accessorized delicately with golden heels and long, dangling earrings.
Much like her grip on The White Lotus fans, Aubrey Plaza took the Critics Choice Awards red carpet by storm with a trippy, glitched-out little black dress. Her shimmering custom Louis Vuitton gown wowed with a thigh-high leg slit and a colourful sheer neckline.
Yeoh’s Everything Everywhere All at Once co-star, Stephanie Hsu, also turned out a stunning look at the Critics Choice Awards red carpet with her pleated Valentino gown, as PEOPLE points out. As another star who opted for a pop of colour, Hsu looked outstanding in her draped tangerine dress with slicked hair and a breathtaking silver necklace.
Cut-outs, cut-outs and more cut-outs. Normal People star Daisy Edgar-Jones, who was nominated for her role in Under the Banner of Heaven, broke out a glamourous, futuristic cut-out dress. With extravagant, draped details, the head-turning Gucci gown featured a spacey purple-and-grey design.
Anya Taylor-Joy stood out on the Critics Choice Awards red carpet with a unique sheer A-line dress. The nude Dior Haute Couture Miss Dior number was detailed with its embroidered embellishments, which Taylor-Joy accessorized with a 20-carat Tiffany & Co. diamond, according to Hello!.
