The 74th annual Primetime Emmy Awards – which celebrated the best television shows and performances of 2022 – took place on September 12, and the celebs really delivered on the red carpet. Breaking out some jaw-dropping gowns and stunning styles, fashion was definitely at the forefront of the Emmy Awards this year.
Sparkles and cutouts and ruffles, oh my! Celebs weren’t afraid to lean into bold trends like old-school Hollywood glamour and shimmering sequins. From Zendaya’s classic black Valentino gown to Lizzo’s eye-catching scarlet ruffles, small-screen stars turned out sensational looks on the red carpet.

Sandra Oh was ready to really make a statement on the red carpet this year with a plunging purple ensemble. The Killing Eve star turned heads with a sequined Rodarte pantsuit and matching bedazzled Cathy Waterman jewellry.

Bold was the motto on the red carpet this year, and Lizzo was the perfect example of that. The “About Damn Time” singer made her Emmys debut with an extravagant scarlet Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown. Donning head-to-toe red tulle, Lizzo completed the outfit with some shimmering Lorraine Schwartz diamond accessories.
Emmy winner Amanda Seyfried also took part in the sequins trend on the red carpet with a sophisticated, shimmering lilac dress. The Armani Privé gown highlighted Seyfried’s silhouette, with a mermaid shape and delicate tulle running along the neckline.
Model and Squid Game star HoYeon Jung has a long-standing relationship with Louis Vuitton, walking in several shows and becoming an ambassador for the luxury brand. Of course Jung rolled up to the red carpet in an intricate pastel Louis Vuitton dress. Lined with complex sparkling sequins in lavender, peach, sage and black, Jung gave a refined edge to the playful look.
Zendaya wasn’t the only Euphoria actor making a splash at the Emmys this year. Sydney Sweeney also channeled elegance with a custom silver floral Oscar de la Renta gown. Styling her hair with simple waves, Sweeney let the intricate metal threadwork do the talking.
Beloved Euphoria star (and Emmy winner) Zendaya stepped away from her usual subversive style to lean in to a longtime classic: the black ballgown. With her refined Valentino dress, Zendaya stole the show by giving old-school Hollywood glamour a modern twist.
