The Oscars brought the drama in more ways than one this year — though, unfortunately, we’re not just talking about the films themselves. Luckily, when it came to the fashion element of the event, the stars went all out to showcase some dazzling looks ahead of the wild ceremony.
From Ariana DeBose’s epic red outfit to Zendaya’s dazzling silver skirt and crop top and Timothée Chalamet’s jacket sans shirt, there was no shortage of excellent red carpet looks. These are our picks for the best-dressed celebs at the 2022 Oscars.
Ariana DeBose
Ariana DeBose took home the Oscar for best actress in a supporting role for her turn in West Side Story, and she did so in style in this beautiful red outfit. From the cape to the wide-legged pants and the crop top, we’re obsessed with this Valentino gown-meets-tux look.
Aside from her winning look, DeBose made history as the first openly queer woman of colour to win in her category.

Timothée Chalamet
Please, you didn’t think we’d leave Timmy off this list, did you? I’m sorry to all the other men on the red carpet, but no one else nailed it like this. The Oscars are the time to take a fashion risk, and while it’s easy to put on a suit and tie, outfits like this are what make this red carpet so special. He really took a bold risk and it paid off, with this look from Louis Vuitton’s 2022 spring womenswear collection. Boys, take notes!
