We’re all craving a bit of nostalgia these days, given the current state of the world – hence all those throwback must-see TV events of late, from the Saved by the Bell reboot to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion. But when it comes to the highly-anticipated Sex and the City revival currently in production, we couldn’t help but wonder… would Steve Brady really return as Miranda Hobbs’ hubby? With a couple of major stars already bowing out of the project, many wondered whether actor (and fan-favourite) David Eigenberg would follow suit. Thankfully, he appears eager to revisit the role of the basketball-loving New York bartender.

“They have called me,” Eigenberg confirmed to E! News’ Daily Pop. “They’ve been wonderful and I’m very excited to see Miss Cynthia Nixon in her portrayal of Miranda and also their son Brady Brady. We never established whether he was Brady Hobbs or Brady Brady Hobbs or Brady Hobbs Brady. So I’m really hoping to see that we’re all going to be together.”

While it certainly sounds promising that the Chicago Fire star will reprise his star-making turn, the project hit a few rough patches right out of the gate.

The 10-episode revival titled And Just Like That… is headed to HBO Max with three of the four women that made the original series so iconic. Although the release date is still TBD (likely fall 2021 or early 2022), the miniseries has cropped up frequently in the news in recent months – mainly due to the shocking revelation that Kim Cattrall (aka. the one-and-only Samantha Jones) wouldn’t be returning. For fans who paid attention to what went on behind the scenes when SATC was originally on air between 1998 and 2004, we know about the bad blood between Parker and Cattrall. But there’s also quite a few of us (*raises hand*) who thought that maybe, just maybe, the two stars could patch things up and work together one last time – if only to help obliterate the last remaining memories we have of the awkward, problematic films.

The blow about Cattrall was followed by gossip that Chris “Mr. Big” Noth would also sit out, leaving fans wondering what that means for Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw. But Noth seems intent on keeping the rumour mill churning, recently saying, “Everything changes – including announcements in the rags.”

There’s still so much in the air, but there’s hope that everything will turn out A-OK – especially if Miranda, Steve and Brady Brady Hobbs/Brady Hobbs/Brady Hobbs Brady are still a happy family unit.
