Our planet is in a climate crisis. There is no denying it. And the damaging effects of cosmetics on the environment is irreversible. Cosmetic packaging can take years to break down in landfills. But when you are shopping for the perfect foundation shade, its effects on our home are not top of mind.

Blue beauty is a movement looking to change that.

Pioneered by Jeannie Jarnot — a spa industry professional and eco-friendly beauty expert — “Project Blue Beauty” is about limiting our plastic waste while primarily protecting and restoring our oceans. Unlike “green beauty,” which promotes products made with organic or natural resources that are environmentally sustainable overall, blue beauty is about going beyond the green standards and contributing to the environment.
