Beeswax and shea butter are common ingredients in lip balms as they are hydrating, smoothing and seal in moisture. Coconut and sunflower oils both have excellent hydrating properties, so no matter which one you use, your lips will benefit.

•Two tablespoons beeswax pastilles
•Two tablespoons shea butter
•Two tablespoons coconut or sunflower oil
•10 drops essential oil (like peppermint for a fresh tingle or lavender for its calming effects)
Add coconut or sunflower oil, shea butter and beeswax to a double boiler. Stir until melted together and then add 10 or more drops of your favourite essential oil. Test a little on your hand every now and then to see if the scent is strong enough. Pour into container and let cool. Apply to parched lips whenever necessary.
