The Spring sun is starting to peek through, and with that comes the promise of warmer weather and spending more time beyond our four walls.

If you’re not already in this mode of (re-)embracing your beauty routine, here’s a quick cheat sheet on one of the trendiest makeup looks for the upcoming Spring/Summer season: the classic smokey eye. Just remember, if you’re focusing on playing up the eyes, balance out the look with the perfect nude lip.

Here are four top looks to inspire you, straight from the runways.

Liquid line it

They say eyes are the windows to the soul, right? So give those peepers some window dressing. If you only have time for one thing, a well-applied liquid liner is one of those things that can easily elevate your look and make you feel put-together.

Subtle but sexy

If you prefer to keep things on the lighter side (such as when running errands), but still want the effect of smokey eye try this barely-there-look. Stick to lighter shadow colours for the lid and then use a darker shadow to subtly line your lashes.

Soft but smokey

This look builds the effect by way of the right eyeshadow palette (try grays, ashy purples or plums and browns). Recreate the look by gradually going for darker and darker shades as you edge closer to the lash line. Using an angled shadow brush, create a softer liner look that frames the eyes but still gives a soft look.

Smouldering smoke show

If you’re looking to amp up the drama, this Fall 2020 all over smokey eye trend is still around. Especially from under a mask, these eyes speak volumes. Pick a palette and then blend, blend, blend, progressively getting darker as you move from brow bone to lash line.
