Pete Davidson is reportedly close to gearing up for his next adventure, and it’s a journey that will take him even farther than his upcoming move from Staten Island to Brooklyn. According to Page Six, the SNL star is close to inking a deal to join billionaire Jeff Bezos on a Blue Origin flight — meaning he could be travelling to space.
“Pete is excited. They haven’t signed a contract yet, but it looks like it’s going to happen. The details are being finalized. He got on really well with Jeff when they met,” a source told Page Six. Davidson and girlfriend Kim Kardashian were spotted heading for dinner with Bezos in January.
Davidson’s potential cosmic trip has not been finalized yet, however, another source told CNN that in the next few weeks, an announcement is likely.
Aside from Bezos, Davidson would join the ranks of celebs including William Shatner and Michael Strahan who have taken part in a Blue Origin mission if he blasts off from earth. When Strahan went into space last year, he told People ahead of the trip that he planned on bringing a small collection of earthly mementos with him, including “a pearl necklace from his girlfriend Kayla Quick’s late grandmother, his ABC and FOX employee ID cards and a lucky $2 bill.” We only hope that Davidson follows suit, perhaps packing an item from SKIMS or his favourite pair of sunglasses.
There’s no word yet on the timing of when Davidson would go into space, but it would likely be later this year, according to Page Six. And when he does, Davidson will be one step closer to making his “Chad on Mars” skit a reality.
