While we may think of Swedish retailer IKEA more for their furniture and organization products (and, of course, their delicious meatballs), the Norway branch of the company has come up with an interesting offering following a recent baby boom in the country — a “name bank” featuring more than 800 baby name ideas. The ideas in the bank are based on the names that the retailer has bestowed on furniture and organization products since 1948.

Wondering if the baby names in the bank may be a bit too out-there for your little one? Keep in mind that the company typically names its products after people as well as Swedish towns and geographical features. So, the name bank offers a mix of names for products that might already be more familiar as baby names in Canada (such as Daphne, which was also an IKEA lamp model in 1964) as well as some less-common names in Canada (such as Majbritt, which was an IKEA pillow name in 2018).
