This is What One 25-Year-Old Spent on a Night Out in Downtown Toronto

We love a night out with friends, but it can be all-too easy to go over budget when you’re out on the town (no matter what your personal budget may be). With that said, there are definitely ways to watch your costs when you’re out — even in a big (and expensive) city like Toronto.

Showing us how it’s done, Tess (AKA @tess.barclay) took us along with her on a recent night out in downtown Toronto — and she kept a tally of what she spent. PRESTO ride to dinner: $3.25

To start her evening, Tess used her PRESTO card to take a street car to dinner. At just over $3 for the ride, this form of public transit is simple and inexpensive — and a good way to keep costs down (instead of taking an Uber, for example).

Dinner at Moxies Toronto: $30.50

Next, Tess made a stop for dinner at Moxies. Her meal, which included a platter of fish tacos and one drink, cost just over $30 — which was the biggest expense of the night for Tess.

Drinks at RendezViews: $20

Tess then walked to RendezViews to take in some views from the patio and enjoy a couple of drinks. There was a $10 drink deal at the event Tess was at, so she spent $20 for two drinks.
