When it comes to deciding where to travel, the options can sometimes feel endless. But if you’re looking to explore somewhere cool, travel magazine Time Out is here to help with its annual roundup of the coolest streets in the world, and for Canadians, the top choice is right here at home.
Time Out revealed its 33 selections for the coolest streets worldwide, and Montreal’s Rue Wellington took the number one spot on the list. The reasoning behind the hip street as being the coolest? “When a street is bookended by one of the best bars and one of the best new restaurants in the city, there’s no questioning its cool factor – especially when the city in question is one of the world’s gastronomic capitals,” the editors wrote.

The editors asked over 20,000 people what they thought was the coolest street in their city, and Rue Wellington beat out spots in Glasgow, Taipei, Copenhagen and more.
