Selena Gomez is talking body confidence in a recent Instagram post, revealing a rare, candid photo of herself in a bathing suit. The pic highlights a scar the singer sustained during her kidney transplant surgery in 2017.
She wrote, “When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar. I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up. Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through…and I’m proud of that.”
Gomez, 28, is setting an example of how to ditch those unhealthy thoughts and embrace our own unique beauty, learning to love and celebrate our so-called “flaws” along the way. This is fitting, given that the star recently joined a line of other celebs who launched their own beauty line.
