Meet the Cast of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City

Perfection is attainable… so long as you have money, influence, and status. That’s one of the key themes of RHOSLC when it debuts, as we realize the pressures facing some of these women. The six leading ladies try to create and maintain their pristine, social-media-worthy lives despite a slew of hurdles coming at them—sometimes from within their own circles and families. And sure religion factors in, but it’s not just Mormon values that will be represented (or misrepresented). These women come from a variety of religious backgrounds including Islamic, Jewish and Pentecostal.

This self-proclaimed “good Mormon gone bad” hasn’t given up on her religion, but she’s definitely ready to play by her own rules. A single mother to three daughters and the owner of a Med-Spa business, Heather already has a lot on her plate when the season debuts. She once served a Mormon mission in the South of France and was married to Mormon Royalty for 11 years, but following her divorce she has put some distance between herself and her church. Now, she’s ready to find her voice, get her “cougar” on in the dating pool, and begin the next chapter of her life—and all with a mimosa in her perfectly manicured hand.

Jen loves to spend money—sometimes up to $50,000 in one month. But she also works hard for each and every piece of designer clothing on her back, serving as the CEO of her three marketing companies. She and her husband share two children and love to host parties, often sparing no expense to prove that they are the best hosts in the state. As a woman of Tongan and Hawaiian descent growing up in predominantly white Salt Lake City, Jen has often felt sidelined. She converted from Mormonism to Islam after learning about the former religion’s historical mistreatment of the Black community, and often feels the need to defend herself. As a result she may find herself in the center of some of the Housewives drama, but something tells us she can definitely hold her own.

A native New Yorker, Lisa moved to Utah about 20 years ago. She’s the owner of an alcohol company, which comes with its own share of judgement in Salt Lake City. Still, she says she’s a “Mormon 2.0” at heart. She’s an avid horseback rider and a luxury brand builder (she has her own signature “bump curl”), not to mention a mother of two. On the surface she seems to have it all, but as her co-stars will probably attest, Lisa’s impossibly high standards can also impact her friendships—including the ones she shares with fellow BYU graduate Heather and her BFF Meredith.

On the surface this Housewife seems to have it all. Mary’s bio reveals that she is a Pentecostal First Lady who inherited her family’s impressive empire of churches, restaurants, and other business ventures. The only thing she had to do in order to secure that inheritance? Marry her late grandmother’s second husband. Yup, you read that correctly. Mary and Robert Cosby Sr. have now been married for 20 years and share a teenaged son. Naturally Mary sometimes feels judged because of her past and she has a hard time letting others in. However with her couture and penchant for the finest champagne, Mary may very well be the intimidating one in this group of women. Or as she may prefer to be called, their “spiritual guide.”

This celebrity jewelry designer is facing a pretty big crossroads in her life when the cameras roll. A Jewish mother who once ran a half-marathon six weeks postpartum, Meredith has been married for more than 25 years. But now, with her kids in college and her marriage going through a rough patch, she needs to make some adjustments in her life. So while she still loves hitting the town with her besties, Jen and Lisa, and she isn’t afraid to invoke her inner “ice queen” personality when needed, Mer will have to decide if she’s willing to really let her friends in, or if she’s going to go through damaging, recently swirling rumours all by her lonesome. For her sake, here’s hoping she opts for the first option.

Whitney has a stripper pole in the basement and stepchildren who are her own age, but perhaps that’s the secret to keeping her now 10-year marriage alive. The “Mormon Royalty” descendant left the church after she fell in love with her boss and had an affair. Eventually they both left their spouses to be with each other and now they have two kids. In addition to running her own skin care line, Whitney is also parenting her aging father, who counts on her for everything. With so much on her plate she could really use some good girlfriends to lean on. The only problem is that with her scandalous past, the next rumour always seems to be just around the corner.
