I Tried Kosas’ Wet Lip Oil Gloss and Found My New Fave Lip Product

I love green beauty and I’m always on the hunt for my next favourite clean product. I’ve been a fan of Kosas for a while – their tinted face oil is my go-to and their weightless lip colour lipstick is another staple in my makeup bag. When I found out they had a lip gloss, I knew I would have to test it out.

Most lip glosses are filled with some not-so-great ingredients, including petrolatum and other icky things, which is why I was immediately excited about this lip product. This product sells itself as natural lip gloss that’s both hydrating and clean. It boasts an ingredient list with hyaluronic acid to seal in moisture, evening primrose oil for smoothness, and peptides to plump your pout. Also, it comes in five different shades ranging from a clear gloss to a bright crimson.

Kosas Wet Lip Oil Gloss: The pros

I tried the colour Dip which is a nude, rosy, semi-sheer pink. It gives off the look of your natural lip colour but better, which I love – I’m all about a pretty makeup look that looks like you aren’t wearing anything at all and this definitely achieves that. Plus it’s shiny without looking glittery, which is also a win for me – I hate glitter in my beauty products. It went on smooth and stayed on without being sticky or patchy. It definitely hydrated my chronically dry lips and packed on lots of nourishment with the oils.

Kosas Wet Lip Oil Gloss: The cons

This definitely did not plump my lips, so if you’re looking for something to give you that Kylie Jenner look, this is not for you. I personally didn’t mind since it’s not a feature that attracted me to the gloss; my biggest concerns were a wash of colour and hydration. I also wished the gloss could have lasted a bit longer. It did stay on for about an hour, but with eating and drinking I found myself having to re-apply it often. Lastly, I’m not going to lie, the price tag is also a bit painful – $36 dollars is a little on the expensive side.

Kosas Wet Lip Oil Gloss: Lessons learned

I suffer from extremely dry lips and this definitely left my them moisturized and smooth after wearing it. The gloss didn’t cause any chapping or cracking later on in the day. It’s also not gloopy which is great; I didn’t have to worry about it smearing everywhere or my hair getting caught in it. The spongy applicator made it easy to even out the gloss and spread it effortlessly, plus it has a faint smell of cocoa that I enjoyed. Overall, it’s everything I wanted in a lip gloss. It’s the only lip gloss I’m using right now and I’m really loving it. I would definitely buy it again.
