When Joe Giudice first went to Italy it seemed like things were taking a turn for the worst. He was awaiting news in his deportation case, he’d be away from his family, and no one knew if he and Teresa could weather the storm. But as it turns out, living la Dolce Vita hasn’t been all bad for the RHONJ star. He may actually be living his best life…

Joe Giudice is embracing a new life motto
Part of making positive lifestyle changes involves creating a new mindset, something Joe seems to be doing in spades these days. Rather than dwelling on the past or feeling sorry for himself following all of his legal troubles, he’s turning to the trusted phrase, “carpe diem.”
“Life is too short to be angry. Life is too short to be resentful. Life is too short to hold on to the past. Life is too short not to love. Life is too short not to be happy. Life is too short not to forgive. Life is too short not to live our lives the way we want it," he shared on social media. “Love life. Appreciate the people in it. Enjoy the present. Seize the moment. Life is worth living for, so let's LIVE!”

He’s spending time at the beach
It’s easy to love life and live when there are plenty of beautiful beaches in Italy, and Joe seems to be getting his daily quotient of vitamin D sand-side whenever he can. On Instagram he’s shared selfies from the Amalfi Coast and videos of foot massages by the ocean… if you can count sticking your feet into an aquarium of dead-skin-eating fish a foot massage, that is.

He’s enjoying fine dining
Everyone knows that when in Italy, you eat. (Or is that mangia?) If you follow along with Joe on Instagram, you can see that he’s definitely been partaking in the country’s notable nosh, and in particular the seafood. In fact, some of Joe’s posts make it look as though he may actually work at a fish distribution centre, given that he puts on a hair net and blue coat in one video like the factory workers do. “This is how I hit it in the morning,” he captioned.

He’s getting back in to construction
The fishmonger life isn’t the only gig Joe seems to be pursuing these days. He also revealed that he’s looking for construction gigs, specifically projects that will help him put value back into his community. So far he’s shared that he’s hoping to expand and improve property that Giacinto Gorga — Teresa’s dad — owns by expanding the property and adding a terrace and garage. In the near future, he wants to add his “expertise [to] provide best possible solutions for the remodeling needs here in Italy.”

Hitting up the gym
Joe really kicked his fitness regimen up a notch while he was behind bars, and it’s something he has continued in Italy. Specifically, he’s been training with his brother Pete in hopes of eventually becoming an MMA fighter—something he’s long dreamed of doing. Teresa confirmed that particular career pursuit to Entertainment Tonight last fall, adding that he definitely has the body type.
“I have a lot of aggression in me. I would love to just do it, just to go in and fight somebody just because I just want to fight somebody, you know?” Joe told Andy Cohen in another interview. “I don't even care about the money or whatever. I just want to go in and do something like that.”

He’s finding new digs
In November Joe revealed he’s finally set up in an apartment that’s a bit more modest than the former $1.7 million, 10,000 square-foot mansion he shared with Teresa. There’s a bedroom, an office, a bathroom and a living room, which sounds cozy but perfect for a bachelor of European status. It doesn’t hurt that the pad also boasts beautiful views of the mountains, which he can travel to in his new Mercedes C200.
“I wish I was home, but this is better than where I was,” he wrote.

He’s hanging out with the fam
Joe may be missing his former life, but being in Italy has given him a chance to reconnect with others in his life, like his brother, Pete, and his mother, Filomena. When he first hit Italian soil he also stayed with extended family across the country, including his cousins and grandmother, “Nona Maria,” in Salerno.

He’s spending time with his daughters
Joe has been posting a lot about his clan, so when they visited in November and then again over the holidays he made sure to soak up every minute. Not only did the girls visit Joe’s grandmother and spend time with extended relatives, but they visited plenty of Italian landmarks while they were there—including some galleries and the Coliseum.

He’s living the single life?
Some reports have indicated that, following his rumoured split from Teresa late last year, Joe has been hitting up the town with a couple of ladies and getting back into the dating game. He’s also been spotted on the beach with some bikini-clad girls who seemed very much into dancing and hanging out with him under a cabana.
“They agreed that each had to move on,” and unnamed source told People late last year. “They are doing so amicably and very slowly. Joe has been out on a few dates, Teresa has not. She has been too busy with the girls, with work obligations and taking care of her father. She is happy for Joe. They have been very friendly with one another and are very supportive of each other’s happiness. They still love one another, but … neither is interested in a long distance relationship.”

Still, he seems to be missing Teresa
Despite the fact that Joe seems to have moved on, his Instagram page is full of photos of his wife. There’s a few of her with the couple’s daughters, and then there’s the montage he posted on Jan. 11 with the caption, “Don’t fall in! Whatever happens in our future, remember we were friends to begin with. We will always stay strong. It’s not distance that breaks a couple it’s actions!”
Maybe there’s hope for those two after all.
