Self-proclaimed “image architect” and celebrity stylist Law Roach has officially announced his retirement due to “the politics” and “lies” in the fashion industry – and it’s come as a shock to many.
Roach – who has crafted some unbelievable looks for Zendaya, Megan Thee Stallion, Anya Taylor-Joy and more – took to Instagram on March 14 to reveal that his time is up in the fashion world, according to Page Six.
“My Cup is empty… thank you to everyone who’ve supported me and my career over the years,” Roach wrote. “Every person that trusted me with their image, I’m so grateful for you all.”
He added, “If this business was just about the clothes I would do it for the rest of my life but unfortunately it’s not!” the stylist added. “The politics, the lies and false narratives finally got me! You win… I’m out.”
Fans reportedly speculated that the alleged “politics” could refer to a recent video from a Louis Vuitton fashion show where Zendaya was seated in the last spot in the front row, leaving no space for the Legendary judge to sit beside her. While the Euphoria star is depicted pointing at an empty chair behind her, Roach seems to be frustrated in the clip over not being seated beside his famous client.
Celebs react to Law Roach’s retirement
Following the announcement, stars, designers and fans quickly swarmed the comment section begging Roach to stay in the industry.
Model Naomi Campbell left a comment of her own, writing, “Law I won’t let you !!!! We don’t quit… strived to [sic] hard.”
Roach has yet to follow up with more comments on his retirement. So, is this the end of the beloved celeb stylist’s career, and could his cryptic Instagram post really be related to the Louis Vuitton snub? Or, is there more to the post that’s yet to be revealed?
