We’d almost forgotten just how entertaining Katie Rost, the former Real Housewives of Potomac star, could be. Almost. After being unceremoniously let go from the series after the inaugural season, Katie returned in Season 4 as a friend of the housewives, proving that even the highest of Potomac socialites could become a hot mess.
However, after that short stint Katie disappeared from the franchise, leaving fans to wonder where she went. So what has the model that Anna Wintour once personally recruited been up to? Here are a few updates.

A tough custody battle
When Katie returned to RHOP in 2019, she had divorced her first husband, James Orsini. Unfortunately it seems as though things were less than kosher between them, and behind-the-scenes they were embroiled in a pretty big custody battle for their children, son James Rocco and twin daughters Renee and Kathryn. While most of the details have been kept under wraps, Katie revealed at the time that she hadn’t seen her kids in nearly two months. Later she updated fans, telling them she is indeed able to see her babes again.

A broken engagement
While Katie was sorting out her motherhood life, she also managed to find love again with a new man in 2019. She revealed she and a man named Jesse (last name withheld) had become engaged, but then four months later, in December 2019, they had called the relationship off. “It wasn’t anything too overly dramatic — it was more so like a car running out of gas,” Katie told Page Six at the time.
Devastating miscarriages
Katie doesn’t always open up about her personal life (that’s reportedly why she was let go of the series in the first place), but she has been open about her pregnancy struggles. Back in 2019, the personality got real about miscarriages, revealing that she’s had three of them. The most recent was that year, when she and her partner at the time, a man named Jacob, lost a baby about four or five months into the pregnancy. “Baby Quinn was the saddest because she was so far along,” Katie revealed on social media.

A potential behind-the-scenes fling?
In 2020, things got even more dramatic for Katie when she claimed that she’d had a sexual relationship with one of her RHOP co-stars. While Katie didn’t kiss and tell, many people accused Ashley Darby of being the woman in question. During the season five reunion, Darby spoke her peace, revealing it wasn’t her. “I need for everybody to stop saying that was me,” Darby said. “Never could that have transpired. Everybody thought it was me.”
So who was it? Katie definitely isn’t telling.
She’s taken up video games
Most parents believe that if you want to really get to know your kids then you need to learn more about their interests. Katie recently put that theory to the test when she revealed to fans that she’s a new Fortnite fan. The model took up the video game after her daughters developed an interest, and from the looks of things, the intensity during family game nights are about to kick up a few notches.

She brought back The Katie Shop
Katie has a love of jewelry and other pretty things, which is one of the reasons she initially offered merchandise for sale to fans. Eventually though, with all of her other commitments, that became too overwhelming and she took a hiatus. Now though, with a bit of help from a pro who is running things, Katie’s swag is back. The Katie Shop has relaunched in full force, with necklaces, bracelets and all kinds of other goodies now back up for grabs.
She’s still busy with Sunny Hill Farm
During the pandemic things across the world quieted down, but Katie has been moving full steam ahead with life on her ranch, Sunny Hill Farm, for a while now. Not only can people rent a log cabin retreat there, but the farm is running an Art Barn, hosting sessions for kids to get their creativity on, and offering up wine and light fare for guests to nosh on during their visits.

Don’t forget her modelling career
Katie has always been passionate about her modelling career, so we doubt she’ll call that quits anytime soon. To be honest we’re not sure how she still has time to step in front of the camera with all of her other commitments, but she’s as busy on that front as she is with the others. So, while we may miss seeing her on our TV screens, at least we know she’s busy and content just doing her. And let’s be honest: that’s exactly why we love Katie in the first place.
She’s begging to come back to ‘RHOP’
In April, Katie shared a post on Instagram apologizing to Andy Cohen in the hopes of returning to RHOP, according to Page Six. “I would like to issue a public apology, for statements I made that weren’t cool in the past to Andy Cohen,” Katie wrote alongside a black-and-white photo from when she was a model. “And I do want a job. And I swear I will totally behave. I’m also sorry for my temper tantrums. I feel no thirst. I just want to work.”
