The website teflSearch, which helps those who want to teach English abroad, measured how often people Googled destinations from various countries. We’ve included the Top Ten most popular destinations for a global audience and the most searched destinations from Canada. Spoiler: Warm countries are big!

And what about the most searched holiday destinations from Canada? Well, this list is a bit different than the global list. There are lots of winter hot spots, of course. But there are others that speak to the heritage of many Canadians. For example Ireland, which is in 10th place.

No surprise that sun destinations rank highly for Canadians. With winter just around the corner, we're already making plans to escape. Jamaica is the 9th most popular destination searched by Canadians.

The UK accounts for a massive amount of searches by Canadians. No doubt that's because of our historical ties. The pound has dropped significantly against the Canadian dollar, making the UK much more affordable. And while it's not a sun and sand destination, it still is worthy of visiting, even in the winter.
