The Nastiest Divorces in Housewives History

Danielle Staub's third husband decided to throw in the towel after nearly four months of marriage.

The couple tied the knot in a destination wedding back in May of 2018, and just a few months later, ET reported that Marty went to a New Jersey courthouse to file for divorce.

The couple had a rocky relationship that had reports of abuse from both sides. Marty made a statement to Radar Online in which he accused Danielle of "financial, verbal and emotional abuse."

Former RHOC beauty queen Lizzie Rovsek decided to end her eight year marriage with her estranged husband Christian.

In their official statement to The Blast the couple wrote, “We have been struggling in our marriage for years and have decided to seek divorce.... We have known each other since we were 22 years old and we have the utmost respect and love for each other. We are trying to navigate this as gracefully as possible. We will continue to have the best interest for our kids and for each other.”

Lizzie and Christian have two children together and recently made headlines for owing over $100,000 in unpaid taxes.

Gina's debut season on RHOC hadn't even aired yet when it was announced that she was divorcing her husband of of seven years. Gina and Matt separated in March of 2018, and Gina ultimately filed for divorce on April 2 of this year citing "irreconcilable differences." The couple has three children together.

Alexis Bellino and her husband Jim Bellino, tied the knot in 2005, and called it quits in 2018 after 13 years of marriage.

Jim filed the documents for divorce citing irreconcilable differences and requested joint physical custody of their three kids, Mackenna, Melania and James. Things could turn ugly for this divorce as Jim is also seeking spousal support from Alexis.

Kelly and Michael were legally separated in 2012 and Kelly even got engaged to another man. After a contentious fight about spousal support – Kelly wasn’t working and asked for a reported $41,000 a month – Kelly returned to Michael, a husband she admitted was “controlling.” Kelly was once also arrested for striking Michael, though she later claimed she was breaking up a fight up.

Kelly filed for divorce again in 2017, telling DailyMail.com that "it's just a case where two people can't get along."

In February of 2018 Kelly gave an update on twitter saying, "My divorce is final today!! Over the moon happy!" Though the divorce is behind her, things might be awkward since Michael already has a new girlfriend who he met through none other than Vicki Gunvalson!

As details of David's infidelities came to light on RHOC, Shannon tried desperately to save her marriage for the sake of her family.

Through the help of therapy, it looked like things were on the mend, and David even surprised Shannon with a vow renewal. Unfortunately, the couple drifted apart once again, and Shannon has decided to file for divorce

In her official statement, Shannon explained, "I felt alone in my marriage. You can do what you can to keep your family together, but you have to have willing parties. You need two people to make a marriage work, and that just wasn’t happening in our relationship."

Let's face it, this marriage was doomed from the start. Rumours of cheating plagued the couple even before Lu walked down the aisle — and they certainly didn't stop after the wedding.

To make things worse, the couple was even seen getting into some very public fights.

Though the announcement seems amicable, we've seen plenty of Housewives divorces take an ugly turn.

LuAnn acts like her split from the Count was amicable...but he broke up with her via EMAIL. There’s no way that was well received. Even worse: he left her for an Ethiopian princess. As LuAnn later hinted at on RHONY, their “open” marriage was one sided.

Since separating in 2012, RHONY's Bethenny says Jason dragged out their divorce and kept them from coming to an amicable agreement over alimony and child custody. It was only in 2016 that the once-happy couple finalized their divorce.

In 2017 Bethenny had Jason arrested for aggravated harassment and for stalking Bethenny and her boyfriend at the time — YIKES!

RHOBH's Brandi Glanville has perhaps the most famous divorce in Real Housewives history, despite the fact it happened before she joined the show. Her husband, the actor Eddie Cibrian, cheated on her with Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Marie and country star Leann Rimes when Brandi was pregnant with their second child. Over the years, Brandi and Eddie have made countless digs at each other in the press and on their respective reality shows, and Brandi even struck up a friendship with Leann’s ex, Dean Sheremet, who starred with her on My Kitchen Wars.

Another divorce, another cheating scandal. Things got ugly quickly between RHONY's Jules and Michael after she allegedly caught him cheating with one of her friends. Cops showed up to their apartment to break up a fight, then Michael claimed Jules “regularly” called the police with false allegations. It got nastier from there: Michael’s lawyer called Jules a drama queen, accused her of assaulting Michael and claimed she has a drug problem.

Kelsey encouraged Camille to join RHOBH, then asked for a divorce once the cameras were rolling. He later told a reporter the show was his “parting gift” to her. UGH. Worse: he cheated on her with a flight attendant, who he married just two weeks after the divorce was finalized. Camille got the last laugh, though – according to TMZ, she got a full half of his $60 million fortune.

RHOA's Phaedra and Apollo had a long, drawn out and confusing divorce. Phaedra filed for divorce as Apollo was arrested for fraud and sent to jail for a second time, which stalled the proceedings. Then, as soon as it was finalized, Apollo revealed he was already engaged to another woman.

RHOA's Porsha Williams got next to nothing in her divorce settlement after she split from Kordell. After the divorce, she hinted that he was gay – which he has adamantly denied. Kordell hit back, saying that Porsha neglected his son and changed once the cameras turned on.

Mario cheated on Ramona with a 32-year-old fitness trainer. Around the time that their affair went public, the police were called to break up a fight at Ramona and Mario’s home in the Hamptons. There was also an alleged confrontation between Ramona and Mario's mistress, Kasey, at a restaurant in New York. Adding insult to injury, Mario was spotted with Kasey multiple times after attempting to reconcile things with Ramona.

The court battle between RHOC's Tamra and Simon following their divorce was certainly ugly. First it was revealed Simon was arrested on more than one occasion for domestic abuse, then Simon accused Tamra of adultery. After a bitter custody battle over their children, Simon won sole custody of their daughter Sidney, from whom Tamra is now estranged.

Remember the good old days, before we ever heard of Brooks Ayers? RHOC's Vicki Gunvalson made the wrong move splitting from Donn, and she later admitted she regretted it. Donn has stayed pretty quiet since the divorce, but he did ask for spousal support, which didn’t sit well with Vicki. There are also rumours Vicki cheated on Donn with Brooks — AND rumours Vicki tried to get back together, but Donn turned her down.

Yolanda and David were married for only four years when news of their divorce broke in 2015. Yolanda blamed her battle with Lyme disease as the cause of tension in her marriage, while David claimed the couple had issues outside of Yolanda's diagnosis.

When we met Adrienne and Paul on the first season of RHOBH, the couple was frequently caught bickering on camera. Paul filed for divorce in 2012 after 10 years of marriage, and things quickly turned ugly. The couple entered into an bitter custody battle with accusations of abuse and horrible behaviour from both parties.

Luckily, Adrienne and Paul were able to turn things around, and the couple is now happily and healthily co-parenting their three sons. They've even been showing up to eachother's events to show their support.
