Is watching (and re-watching) Home Alone part of your holiday tradition? If that answer is yes, and if staying at the McCallister’s home is on your ultimate bucket list, this is your chance to live out your childhood dream.
On Dec. 7, the Chicago-area home featured in the film will be available for booking on Airbnb for one night only this month. The house played an integral role in the film as Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) mounted a defense against a burglarizing duo (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern), but the cost of the Airbnb stay is even wilder: it’s a mere $25 (USD).

Those lucky people who secure their stay will be able to enjoy the house on Dec. 12. Another perk? Airbnb guests will be welcomed by Kevin’s big brother Buzz (actor Devin Ratray).
Airbnb shared the announcement about the iconic ’90s nostalgia home on their Instagram. “Celebrate the season McCallister-style, ya filthy animals. For the first time ever, one crew of mischief makers can book a holiday in the timeless house where the Home Alone story began (without the interruption of pesky intruders),” they wrote.

But wait. There’s more! For this ultimate holiday treat, guests will also get to set booby traps in the fully decked-out home, akin to what mastermind Kevin did in the film (Wet Bandits not included). They’ll also get to enjoy slices of “Chicago’s finest pizza” — a Kevin McCallister special — as well as have a meet-and-greet with a live tarantula (that hopefully won’t go astray, like the one in the movie).

To conclude the festive night, there will be a screening of the latest Home Alone franchise installment, Home Sweet Home Alone, which was released on Disney+ last month. In honour of the one-night stay, Airbnb announced it will make a one-time donation to Chicago’s La Rabida Children’s Hospital.
While this is the first time the Home Alone house has been listed on Airbnb, it isn’t the first time the company offered up a rental tied to pop culture. Twilight fans can rent Bella Swan’s house and, as of last month, the company announced it will be renting out a recreation of Carrie’s iconic brownstone apartment from Sex and the City.
