Keto Diet
Similar to Paleo, South Beach and Atkins, this low-carb, protein and fat based a diet is all about getting your body into ketosis. The very strict ketogenic diet relies on fueling your body with stored fat produced by your liver — rather than relying on sugar (glucose) that comes from carbohydrates (grains, legumes, vegetables and fruits). The 80/20 Diet
If you think this means you eat extremely healthy for 80 per cent of the time — and eat what you want for 20 per cent of it, then you are exactly right. It’s important to note that this is less of a “diet” or “weight loss tool” and more of a lifestyle change and different approach to eating. They say the 80/20 lifestyle encourages balance, moderation and indulging without remorse.
For 80 per cent of the time, the idea is to stay away from simple carbs (wheat, flour, etc.) and white sugar — while you can eat more of what you want for 20 per cent of the time. Pro-tip: don’t binge.
