If you look at a map, Beverly Hills and Orange County are only about an hour-and-half drive apart. Still, the two California franchises of The Real Housewives have, thus far, been separate entities — though it looks like Taylor Armstrong is changing that.

As reported by PEOPLE, Taylor Armstrong — who was an OG cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — is joining The Real Housewives of Orange County as a Friend on the show for RHOC’s upcoming 17th season. By joining the ladies of RHOC, Armstrong will make history as the first Housewife to switch franchises.

RHOBH fans remember Armstrong as a main cast member from seasons 1 to 3. During her time starring on Beverly Hills, Armstrong, now 51, made headlines for her tumultuous relationship with and allegations of domestic abuse against husband Russell (who died by suicide in 2011, a month after the couple’s split).

Since leaving RHOBH, Armstrong, who is the mother of 16-year-old Kennedy, has been an advocate for survivors of domestic violence. In 2014, she married attorney John Bluhe.

Most recently, Taylor Armstrong has dipped her toe back into the pool of Housewives as part of the cast of this summer’s The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club.

The announcement of Armstrong’s addition to the RHOC cast comes on the heels of a few other major shakeups for the ladies of Orange County, including the return of RHOC alum Tamra Judge and the departures of season 16 newcomers Noella Bergener and Dr. Jen Armstrong.

While PEOPLE reports that production for season 17 of RHOC  is underway, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to learn the premiere date.
