If you think of celeb-loved or celeb-run shapewear lines, the ones that come to mind are likely SPANX or SKIMS. However, in light of Kim Kardashian’s harsh comments about women in business, some people might be looking elsewhere for a brand to support. Luckily for all of us, Lizzo has a shapewear line — Yitty — and it’s inclusive and body positive.
In fact, in late March, Yitty announced its first-ever gender-affirming shapewear line called Your Skin by Yitty, which is for “people of all gender identities.”
What is Yitty?
Yitty is Lizzo’s childhood nickname, and the Grammy-winner has said that Yitty will be for everyone.
“This is *not* an invitation to change who you are… this is an opportunity to BE who you are on your terms. I don’t know about y’all — but I’m sick of people telling me how I’m supposed to look and feel about my body,” she reportedly wrote on Instagram. “I’m tired of discomfort being synonymous with sexy. If it’s uncomfortable TAKE IT OFF. And if it makes you feel good PUT IT ON. @YITTY isn’t just shapewear, it’s your chance to reclaim your body and redefine your beauty standard.”

Through a partnership with Fabletics, the line carries items like bras, leggings and more, and come in a wide range of sizes, from XS to 6X. The brand is also carbon-neutral and eco-friendly with over 65 per cent of the pieces being made with recycled fibres, and its fully recycled packaging, according to People.
“I’m selling that more than I’m selling thongs, more than I’m selling bodysuits or I’m selling shapewear,” Lizzo told the New York Times. “I’m selling a mentality that ‘I can do what I want with my body, wear what I want and feel good while doing it.’”
What is Your Skin by Yitty?
Your Skin by Yitty is Lizzo’s brand new gender-inclusive shapewear line that includes everything from tucking thongs to chest binders, as Bustle notes.
“When we say we support every body, we mean it,” Yitty reportedly detailed on Instagram. “We believe in radical self-love for people of all gender identities — including the trans, non-binary, gender-fluid, and gender non-conforming communities that have been chronically underserved.”
The line, which will be released in late summer 2023, has been two years in the making.
Lizzo also took to Instagram to explain that she wanted to make the line “to help” people who have been “crafting their own garments to wrap or tuck their bodies so their body can truly feel like theirs.”
“It took 2 years of extensive wear testing, community feedback, and attention to detail,” Lizzo adds. “I’m excited to say we have a great product that promises to grow and expand with Your needs.”
