Miley Cyrus
Wild child Miley isn’t one to shy away from an adventurous new cut, but this one’s looking a little water-logged. Miley’s wet hair style is more greasy and less grunge, and puts a real damper on an otherwise chic look.

Lala Kent
This Vanderpump Rules star’s catchphrase might be “Give them Lala” but here she is serving too much of her over the top style. The thick, black headband is trending, but we could do without the ‘80s hair metal height at her crown. Paired with heavily embellished jewelry and the denim jacket, Lala’s nod to the past is more expired than inspired.

Rihanna
In 2017 Rihanna added beauty CEO to her ever growing, incredibly impressive resume with the launch of Fenty Beauty, a logical step considering her trendsetting style. While she usually hit the mark, this half-shaved/ half-braid has us scratching our heads. Consider she never commits to one look for long, we imagine this was short-lived anyhow.

Jennifer Lawrence
Some might call this haircut the awkward stages of a grown out pixie cut, while others might go as far to call this look a “Karen” cut, either way we’re calling out this do for being seriously unflattering. While we can appreciate the need for a fresh chop, Lawrence herself said that the decision to crop her locks was because her tresses were fried and “couldn’t get any uglier.” It seems as though she found a way to style her do look and was later seen in a cool slicked back style.

Khloe Kardashian
The high ponytail has made a serious comeback and with good reason- it’s easy, flattering, and carefree. While the Kardashians have a reputations for setting trends rather than following them, we aren’t looking to copy Khloe’s larger than life take on this hairstyle. The overly teased tresses and off-colour pony wrap are overdone when paired with full glam makeup, large diamond hoops and a full leather ensemble. You can have it all Koko, just not all at once.

KJ Apa
This look is a far cry from his on-screen persona as clean cut Archie Andrews on the CW’s Riverdale. While the colour is clearly dyed for the role, it’s the 90’s spiked up gel look we just can’t seem to get passed. Worn with a white turtleneck under a white suit, KJ looks more cartoon villain than comic book dreamboat.

Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj made a splash on the music scene with her colourful wigs and weaves, but this wet look falls flat. The streaks of black and orange might have looked cool in a more styled ‘do , but instead comes across as a dye job gone wrong. We love your rainbow array of hair colour choices Nicki, but this one was a flop.

Selena Gomez
Selena wore this up-do on the pink carpet of the 2019 Met Gala, where the theme was “Camp: Notes on Fashion”, meaning spectacular excess is a must. While we love the gold glitter eyes, the jumble of pageant curls pinned to her head felt age inappropriate for this young star. This frizzy ‘do may have fizzled, but Selena has a multitude of envy-inducing hair moments to make up for it.

Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa always manages to mix up her dark hair- chopping it to chin length or two-toned colouring with stripes of bubble gum pink — but this heavy bangs isn’t doing her any favours. Aside from it being reminiscent of a Cleopatra costume prop, it hides one of her best assets- full, bushy, brows. Don’t right off a little fringe just yet though- we do think she would look great with a baby bang!

Robert Pattinson
In both film and fashion, we applaud Robert Pattinson for continually pushing the boundaries and mixing it up. While one constant usually remains — his commitment to dishevelled, laid back locks that strike a balance of equal parts cool and sexy — but this look takes it too far. Granted, this photo was taken at the Christian Dior Homme show in Paris where extremes ensure you stand out, we are calling out this hair as a fashion faux pas.

Scarlett Johansson
While we are loving this summer’s 80’s throwback fashion — bike shorts, neons bodysuits — but one look we hope doesn’t return is the mullet. In 2003, Scarlett Johansson made this business in front, party in the back ‘do a little bit punk and a little bit fashion, with dark roots and light feathering, but considering she hasn’t returned to this look maybe once was enough.

Shia Laboeuf
This was a look which baffled us all, but as it turned out this sweet mullet-rattail-braid hybrid was indeed created for his character in the film America Honey. The fact that he kept it for the red carpet... well I guess we may never know. I think it’s safe to say this was a one and done hairstyle which should never be recreated.

Jennifer Lopez
Over the years, Jennifer Lopez has made waves with her fashion and beauty choices both good and bad. J-Lo is glamorous, but this severe braided bun is outdated and competes with her dramatic makeup and impressive jewelry. A less is more look was never her thing, but we’ve seen how amazing she looks when she strikes a balance.

Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga is known for her avant-garde, outrageous fashion and beauty choices, but this look lacks any of her usual artistic flair. Unfortunately it looks like she went in with the wash and came out with this overdone bouffant hairstyle- complete with shreds of old fabric. Sorry Gaga, this one isn’t a hit.

Adam Levine
While box dye blonde colour could been seen as a skate-punk style choice, we think this straw-like hue looks more like a peroxide problem. Even paired with a casual suit, Adam Levine’s choice to go (almost) platinum needs some work. Commit or quit — some purple shampoo with take out those brassy tones and get you to a blonde work noticing for the right reasons.

Rita Ora
There is a lot to unpack here — the cut, the colour, the club kid makeup and jewelry, it’s overkill. Known for her lock waves dyed in various shades of blonde, Rita Ora generally keeps her look glamorous. While we love to see her mixing up her style, the crooked bangs and clown-like cut don’t gel well with her brand.

Janelle Monae
Singer, songwriter, rapper, actress, producer, model— is there anything Janelle Monae can’t do? The tuxedo is synonymous with much of Monae’s wardrobe, keeping things within the palette of black and white as she “doesn’t want to cloud herself with too many colours.” While this colour scheme has been incorporated into elaborate pearl adorned double buns or as a crystal floral accent, these goggly eyes miss the mark. I suppose with all eyes already on Janelle Monae, she isn’t worried about a bad hair day.

Cara Delevigne
Cara is beloved in the fashion industry for her ability to pull off just about any style all while maintaining her Brit girl edge. While this romantic side braid is not a terrible hairstyle, it does seem off-brand for Cara’s usual trendy cuts. We prefer when she lets her fun, carefree vibe shine through and this fussy braid isn’t cutting it.

Alicia Keys
Alicia Keys has been hitting high notes for over almost 20 years, but this hair do is "falling" flat. This comb over bang-mullet hybrid definitely is not one her greatest hits. While pin straight locks are a sleek option, we love it when Keys shows off her natural, corkscrew curls. However, with 15 Grammy awards under her belt, we bet she's not looking back on this bad hair moment.

Halsey
Halsey is the ultimate hair chameleon, she’s taken her style from long dark locks to a buzzed platinum crop and everything in between. While she’s managed to pull off just about every hairstyle imaginable, a fire engine red bowl cut is pretty tough look to sport. We’ve seen her don the bold hue before and nail it, but the cut has got to go.
