Model Gigi Hadid knows a lot about beauty and makeup thanks to her years of hitting the catwalk. Now, she’s opening up about the simple and sweet piece of beauty advice she’ll pass down to her daughter, Khai.
The young momma, 26, told Harper’s Bazaar the easy trick she’ll share with her little girl: “I think I’ll teach Khai to keep it simple when it comes to makeup, like my mom taught me,” she said. Not only does Hadid keep her routine low-key because of her mother, Yolanda, but also because her products have changed since having a baby.

“I’ve really simplified my routine to just the necessities of the necessities. Obviously, when I’m working, I do more,” she said. “But when I’m home, I’m on mom duty full-time. I wake up in the morning, wash my face, moisturize, put on deodorant, and love to add a fragrance. But if I don’t have time, I’m not going to wear makeup.”

Hadid also added that her mom doesn’t overdo it with beauty products, which has led the model to realize that less is more. “Doing too much for my skin or beauty routine can make it more complicated, and sometimes my skin can’t handle it,” she said.
Beauty tips aside, Hadid is loving motherhood, saying that she has a lot of patience and unconditional love. Baby Khai is still less than a year old, so Hadid and father Zayn Malik are still getting to know their little one. “It’s just fun to watch her grow and learn every day. And she makes me so proud,” she said. “It’s funny how even the smallest things are exciting.”
