Prince William and Kate Middleton adopted the 8-month-old English Cocker Spaniel pup from Kate’s brother James Middleton just two months before the family’s beloved dog Lupo died two months ago.
James had also gifted Lupo to the couple as their wedding present in 2011 (the couple wed in April of that year); Kate’s parents’ own dog Ella was the pup’s mom.
Lupo was with the family for nine years, and even appeared in several official portraits over the years, including the photo following Prince George’s birth.
