The Young Queen
The Queen Mother had yet to be elevated from her then-title of Duchess of York when she posed with her daughters, Margaret (L) and Elizabeth, with the future queen displaying the regal poise that would be her hallmark for the next 80-something years. Given the turbulence of their upbringing — their father ascending to the throne after the abdication of their uncle — the sisters were said to have formed a particularly close bond as children.
