Did Selena Gomez just shade Justin Bieber in her latest TikTok?

In a clip shared on July 20, Gomez mouthed the words of a voiceover that warned: “So, you’re telling me that you can read his astrological birth chart, but you can’t read the red flags?”

Then, during a dramatic pause, the singer took a small sip of her drink before mouthing, “Sis.”

The video has already amassed more than 2 million likes in less than 24 hours. It also saw an influx of comments from fans who were both delighted the pop star was frequenting the video-sharing platform more often and also wanted to know if the clip was a direct, not-so-subtle jab at her ex-BF.

One commenter wrote: “Bestie, he was literally a Pisces” while another added that “his named started with a J.” Another fan took it a step further, commenting: “SIS you are the queen of ignoring red flags.”

Another comment with more 4,000 likes (and counting) read, “She really said, ‘Shade JB.’”

This isn’t the first time fans were convinced the Rare Beauty founder was alluding to her past relationship with the Canadian superstar. Between her runaway hit “Lose You to Love Me” and her first Spanish-language release, “De Una Vez,” fans have been looking for hidden meanings at every turn.

Bieber and Gomez dated on and off from 2010 to 2018, and the “Peaches” singer has admitted he didn’t always treat Gomez well, stating that in the past that he was wild and reckless while with her. Although he has since settled down and is happily married to Hailey Bieber, fans are always theorizing that Gomez was the one who got away. Since tying the knot, the Biebers have dealt with a lot of comments and messages in support of Gomez.

Now that it’s been a few years since their split, Gomez seems to be firmly planted in the world of TikTok and we’re already expecting more viral clips and fan theories.
