Tom Hanks was still married to his college sweetheart Samantha Lewes when love bloomed for him and co-star Rita Wilson on the set their 1985 comedy Volunteers. “Rita and I just looked at each other and — kaboing — that was that,” Hanks said in an interview. “I asked Rita if it was the real thing for her, and it just couldn’t be denied.” Married in 1998, the couple recently celebrated their 31st anniversary.

Director Steven Spielberg and actress Amy Irving married in 1985, but the marriage ended when Spielberg began a romance with actress Kate Capshaw on the set of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
