Accio all the feelings. A magical wizarding reunion is taking place to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the first magical film that brought the world of Harry Potter to life. To mark the occasion, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint will reunite and head back to Hogwarts.

The golden trio, plus other cast members from all eight films, will meet up for a special airing on HBO Max titled Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts. The special will “tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new, in-depth interviews and cast conversations,” according to the specialty channel.

There are a number of wizarding alum from the series set to appear, including Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch and Ian Hart.

Watson took to Instagram to celebrate the upcoming reunion with a sweet throwback post. “Harry Potter was my home, my family, my world and Hermione (still is) my favourite fictional character of all time,” she wrote. “Thank you to the fans that have continued to show their support well after the last chapter closed. The magic of the world wouldn’t exist without you. Thank you for fighting to make it such an inclusive and loving place,” she added.

Within the last year, J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter novels, has been called out for being a TERF.  She will not make an appearance on the special. Many of the cast members, including Radcliffe, Grint and Watson, spoke out last year condemning Rowling for being transphobic.

Grab your Butterbeer and get comfy, because the special will drop on HBO Max on Jan. 1, 2022, to help you start off the New Year right.
