The 2020 American Music Awards aired Sunday from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater with host Taraji P. Hensen and a slew of explosive performances from the likes of The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, and Megan Thee Stallion.

- Taraji P. Henson opened up the show with an unexpected dance routine to a medley of hits, starting the show with a bang.
- Megan Thee Stallion introduced the world to her newest hit ‘Body’ — a song with addictive lyrics and a dance that’ll make you want to get up and try it yourself.
- Taylor Swift who holds the record for most AMA wins won by any artist, broke her own record by bringing her total win tally up to 32. She accepted her awards via video because she’s currently re-recording all of her old material.
- Cardi B made history as the first artist to win Favourite Song in the Rap/Hip Hop category at the AMAs twice with her song ‘WAP.’ She previously won in that category for her breakout hit ‘Bodak Yellow.’
- Becky G was honoured as the first winner in a new AMA category — Favourite Female Artist – Latin.
