Dreaming of relaxing in a cozy Mexican villa or vacationing near the Swiss Alps? If you’re someone who loves the nomadic lifestyle and lives for travelling, a new program from Airbnb might be just what you’ve been waiting for. As we all yearn to see the world again, Airbnb is indulging our wanderlust by offering several people the chance to live anywhere in the world for up to a year.
The vacation rental company is launching a “Live Anywhere on Airbnb” program. Twelve lucky individuals will be selected to participate and live exclusively in Airbnb rentals for 12 months, 10 of which will include travelling to and living in Airbnb listings.

According to a report from the company, 74 per cent of customers surveyed across five countries said they were interested in living someplace other than where their employer is based after the pandemic is over. With remote work becoming the norm as a result of Covid-19, living like a nomad seems pretty appealing for a lot of folks who have been trapped in one spot for so long.

Wondering if you’d be a good fit for the program? Airbnb says they are open to diverse people from different backgrounds. Whether you’re someone who wants to continue working remotely, or an empty-nester looking for a change, Airbnb is open to anyone who can participate in the program from July 2021 to July 2022. You have to be at least 18 to be eligible.
The one catch is that you’ll have share your experiences with Airbnb to help them shape the future of travel and living in their rentals. It seems like a pretty sweet deal given that you’ll score accommodations and a transportation allowance for the entirety of the program.
If you’re ready to begin a nomadic adventure, you can submit an application at www.airbnb.com/liveanywhere until June 30, 2021. The 12 participants will be selected sometime in July, and will begin their travel journeys in September.
