It’s not polite to talk about money in the South, but we’re going to any way. Take a look at how the well-off cast of Southern Charm earned – err, inherited – their money.
Watch Southern Charm and stream all your favourite Slice shows through STACKTV with Amazon Prime Video Channels, or with the new Global TV app, live and on-demand.

Shep: Restaurateur
Shep started off as a beach bum. When Southern Charm first began, all he did was surf and chase girls. And, fair enough: he's a playboy with an inheritance. But Shep has a job now! He owns a restaurant called Palace Hotel. And we saw on season three, he has a boozy dive bar in the works. From beach bum to self-proclaimed "town drunk" – this is growth, people!

Thomas: Politician…sort of
Thomas is a politician. Well, he was a politician, before that whole cocaine bust (Awkward!). His last kick at the can was a 2014 election for the senate. (He only won 3% of the vote.) Now T-Rav seems to make most of his money from...being a Ravenel. (Read: He was born rich enough to stay rich.)

Kathryn: Mom
Kathryn was a senate page, but she never became a politician. Instead, she ended up having a (disgraced) politician's kid. And being a mom's hard work! But, well. Let's just say it seems like Cameran's season one prediction will come true: "If Kathryn has Thomas Ravenel's baby, I can guarantee you she'll never work a day in her life."

Cameran: Real Estate Agent
Cameran's a self-made woman with a real gig. She's a real estate agent and while most of her cast mates are shaking of their hangovers, she's off selling homes.

5 / 12
Landon: Former Interior Designer
Before she joined Southern Charm, Landon was an interior designer. Since divorcing her ex-husband and moving back to Charleston, she seems to have given design up. Now it's sort of, uh, unclear what her job is. There was that time she wanted to launch a website and pitched an investor using a paper sketch?

Whitney: Producer
While it’s not discussed on camera, Whitney’s current gig is working as a producer...on Southern Charm! Before that, he made a few small time movies, but it seems like his full-time job is basically being Patricia's son. And honestly, who wouldn't want that gig?

7 / 12
Patricia: Professional Lady Who Lunches
Whitney’s mom Patricia is the ultimate lady who lunches. She’s from an era when women didn’t work, so she’s made day drinking into a full time gig. And if there were an employee of the month award for day drinking, Patricia would win every single month.

JD: Restauranter
JD has a job! A real job! One we’re not even confused about. JD owns a bunch of restaurants around Charleston and he's actually usually *at* work, which kind of makes us confused about how he got on Southern Charm.

Craig: ???
We all thought Craig was a lawyer, or at least on the path to becoming one. Then we discovered at the last reunion he didn't finish law school or take the bar. But he *did* quit his gig working for JD. So now he seems as out of career-less as his pal Shep. Just without the inheritance. Yeesh!

10 / 12
Naomi: Grad Student
In case you thought Craig's income was a sugar mama – that doesn't seem to be the case. His girlfriend Naomi is a grad school student.

11 / 12
MJ: Yoga Teacher
MJ, one of the women who moves in and out of Shep’s revolving door of dates, has a job, too. She’s a yoga teacher, and, even though we haven’t seen so much proof as a pair of Lululemon pants, she seems nice so we’ll believe that she’s gainfully employed.

12 / 12
Jenna: Fabulous Grifter
Remember Jenna? The season one Southern Charmer had a...we'll just say "mysterious" income. She didn’t have a job so much as "investments," gambling skills and a super rich boyfriend. Then after she exited the show, we discovered she was basically fronting.
