Move over, Rudolph! There’s a new holiday song in town called “Raise the Woof” and it already has tails wagging all around the world. Released by Tails.com, a dog food company in the UK, the music video has already garnered over 250K views after only a few days of being uploaded to YouTube. Another impressive fact is that the track was recorded at Abbey Road — the studio in London where The Beatles famously recorded some of their biggest hits.

“Raise the Woof” claims to be the first-ever Christmas song for dogs, which uses different sounds to elicit reactions from our four-legged friends. Tails.com even went as far as to use a doggy focus group while in development. The track’s composition received scientific input from both a vet and a dog behaviorist to create a song that would encourage a positive response. It combines a reggae beat with sounds of squeaky toys, commands and bells.

It remains to be seen whether or not this will become a classic holiday song. However, folx across the globe are definitely having their fun with it — especially dog owners. Many of them are sharing their dog’s reaction to the song on social media — using the hashtag #raisethewoof2020.

In fact, we even played the song for one of our very own pups.

The verdict? Two paws up.
