As ‘90s nostalgia continues to trend hard into 2021 in fashion, TV and beauty, you may be looking for ways to wink back to that pivotal time in pop culture, without going overboard. MUA Jasmin Stephen walks you through the step-by-step of recreating that look as well as the six products you need in your arsenal.
Using Matte 6 shadow, create an outer V with a small blending brush (use the dark eyeshadow from the outer corner to mid crease).
Use Matte 11 with a detailed blending brush. The deeper shade intensifies and deepens the crease of the eye.
Use a clean blending brush to defuse edges of the shadow.
Use Matte 1 Matte 3 to mix and press shadows on to the lid for intense pigment and colour.
At the very end, use Matte 1 to add pigment to the inner corner of the eye for a pop.
Use the Precision Colour Pencil’ in Barna to define the line of the eye. Smudge is using Sephora’s ‘Precision Point Shadow’ brush.
Use the L’Oreal Paris Air Volume Mega Mascara in Blackest Black to add intensity to the look of your lashes.
Jasmin used Fenty Beauty Matte Matchstix in Suede and Mocha to add warmth and depth to the face with a multitask brush.
Use Make Up For Ever Artist Face Colour in B305 to bring subtle colour back into the skin and to bring look together. If you have a deeper skintone, you may want to opt for a richer shade.
Using the aforementioned Precision Colour Pencil in Barna, you will create an authentic ‘90s lip by adding this darker brown lip liner to outline the lips at the perimeter.
Then, apply Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint in Unbutton and use brush to create a diffused look on the lip from the liner.
