Stress gain
Between season 11 and season 12 of RHOC, Shannon put on 40 pounds. The culprit? She says it was the stress of Vicki's allegation that David physically abused her, led to over-eating and over-drinking.

Major change
It was a major change from the Shannon viewers were first introduced to in season nine. At one point, Shannon was just 118 pounds. Then, between 2015 and 2016, she put on weight until she reached 172 pounds.

Emotional toll
The gain has taken an emotional toll on her. In one episode, she opened up about hating catching glimpses of her own reflection. "I look in the mirror and I don’t recognize who I am."

Lifestyle changes
Since gaining the weight, Shannon has worked to completely change her lifestyle and work off the extra pounds. She's eating healthier, which means quinoa bowls for dinner at the Beador household. (Sorry, David, but if you don't like it, maybe cook your own dinner, pal.)

Lifestyle changes
The changes haven’t come easy. Shannon’s idea of a healthy order when she’s out to dinner is half a tenderloin filet mignon.
In the words of Tamra: how about a piece of dried fish and a glass of water with some veggies on the side?

Pills
Tamra also got her pills to “promote her sense of wellbeing” which, fine, but maybe she should have just stuck to her advice of fish, veggies and workouts.

Clothing
Despite the gain, Shannon kept buying clothes in the size she used to be. “When you start buying fat clothes, that’s me saying I’m OK with my weight.”

She has, however, made some very smart dressing decisions. She knows her way around a silhouette and how to style a slimming outfit. In lots of shots this season, you wouldn’t even know she put on weight.

Trainer Tim
Most importantly, Shannon started hitting the gym with her new trainer, Tim. She's been working towards achieving a healthy body by doing 30-minute workouts, five days a week.

Trainer Tim
Tim was direct with Shannon to the point of being harsh (did he really need to ask her how her husband felt about her weight gain?), but Shannon has since said she appreciated his honesty. "It snapped me into gear."

Apparently her workouts with Tim, well, worked out. Shannon has shed 15 pounds from her peak weight.

She's also down to 29% body fat, which had previously been a major concern. When she hit 40%, she put herself at serious risk for diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

A whole new Shannon
Since filming wrapped, Shannon has been looking and feeling much better. It looks like we have the old Shannon back - or perhaps even a new, healthier incarnation of the fan favourite.
