It’s been a rocky road for Shannon Beador ever since she joined The Real Housewives of Orange County back in Season 9. Fans watched closely as David Beador’s infidelity became public knowledge in Season 10, followed by Shannon’s valiant effort at keeping her crumbling marriage together. Now at 54 years old, Shannon is going through the process of divorce and transitioning into life as a single mom.

“When I separated from David I made the decision to not go out or do anything – not even out to dinner – for six months…it was painful and hard,” Shannon explains. “But I wanted to get to that point where I could process the pain and know that, in the end, whether I meet someone or not, I’m going to know that I’m okay and happy on my own.”

While divorce is rarely easy, Shannon has never been one to hold anything back from the cameras. “You’ll see me in the ups and downs. It’s hard; my divorce has been really messy up until this point,” she says. “There will be certain aspects of the divorce that you’ll hear about – but David is not filming the show this season.”

David Beador, meanwhile, made headlines when he went public with his new girlfriend back in February of 2018 – just a few months after Shannon filed for divorce.

In an interview with E!’s Daily Pop Shannon revealed her feelings on David’s new relationship and his new girlfriend.

“I haven’t met her. And, you know, it doesn’t matter, I’m fine with it.” Shannon says. Even Shannon and David’s daughters are adjusting to their new normal. “My oldest, she doesn’t really want to know about it, but the twins are OK with it,” she told E!.

Shannon is now entering the dating scene herself, but don’t expect to see her on Tinder or Raya anytime soon. “I don’t think I would ever go on an app. That’s just not me, I’m very old fashioned,” she says.

Don’t worry about Shannon though, she’s doing just find in the dating department without technology. “I did date one person – during the course of this entire season I was dating somebody – but it didn’t work out. And [recently] I [just] reconnected with an old friend… So I’m having fun right now,” Shannon says.

If you’re wondering if Shannon will enter cougar territory like her friend and fellow RHOC castmate Kelly Dodd, don’t hold your breath. “I’m 54 – I’m not going to date younger than me, that’s not going to happen! I’m old-fashioned and I wouldn’t feel comfortable.”

Shannon may be exploring her options, but she’s not in any rush to jump back into a relationship. “Someday, if I could be in a relationship where someone loves me to death and wants to be my partner or teammate, then that’s great. But I’m not actively looking for it, and if it’s supposed to happen, it will.”

Now that her 17-year marriage is behind her, Shannon is moving forward with a newfound optimism for what’s to come.

“I think back to a year ago, I never wanted my marriage to end [because] I thought that would be the end of everything.” Shannon explains. “While I’m sad for my kids that it didn’t work out, I’m excited for what my future has in store for me. I’m excited to date and meet new people. I’m happy, I’m smiling every day, I really am, and I’m very grateful for that.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County can be streamed Live and On Demand on the new  Global TV App , and on  STACKTV .  The network is also available through all major TV service providers.
