Chloe Zhao made history as the first woman of colour to win an Oscar for best director, and it’s safe to say she did so in style. The Nomadland writer, editor, producer and director took home her trophies while looking effortlessly cool, pairing fresh white sneakers with an Hermès gown. The look reaffirmed that pairing sneakers with dresses isn’t going away anytime soon.

All hail the crop top! Promising Young Woman nominee Carey Mulligan hit a fashion home run in her sequined crop top and high waisted skirt combo. The glittering outfit, while too glam for day-to-day outfits, highlights the tiny top and and baggy bottom look that works whether it’s a high-waisted skirt, jeans or shorts.

Day’s asymmetrical slit skirt is giving off ’90s R&B vibes in the best way possible, making it equal parts glamour and fun. It was reminiscent of something Destiny’s Child would have sported back in the day.
