Elliot Page, formerly Ellen Page, took to Instagram to open up about his identity. On Dec. 1, Page published a post coming out as trans and opened up about the journey on his social media account.
From introducing himself to sharing his preferred pronouns (read: only use he/him from this point forward), the 33-year-old Juno actor approached his statement with love and gratitude.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Page helped provide positive representation for the LGBTQ+ community — he’s been doing the work for years. He’s been publicly celebrating the queer community, attributing feelings like inspiration, gratitude and courage to the people of it. Since his coming out back in 2014, Page has been calling on political leaders to do better — to fight harder and end discrimination. The Umbrella Academy actor has been leveraging his public platform to encourage the change we want to see.
We are sending good energy filled with love and support over to our fellow Canadian Elliot Page, who leaves us with feelings of inspiration and gratitude.
