Kyle Richards is feeling lucky to be alive after a scary bee attack at her home over the weekend. On Sunday, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shared her experience via Instagram Stories, detailing her horrifying experience from a hospital bed. Sharing photos of herself holding a breathing tube, she wrote: “So this happened today… I walked into a hive of bees and was stung multiple times. If you know me at all, you know that I’m allergic to bees and terrified of them.”
Caught on camera
She later shared security camera footage that showed the unnerving event. In the footage, Richards can be seen frantically racing around her yard before she pauses to try to open her EpiPen. When she can’t get it open, she jumps into her pool in an effort to lose the bees stuck in her hair. “I can laugh at this video now, but what you can’t see is that they were in my hair and were literally chasing me,” she said about the video.

One can only imagine how scary the experience was — during the whole ordeal, Richards was completely on her own. “My family wasn’t home and for whatever reason, the people that work for me couldn’t hear me screaming for help,” she explains. “My landline wouldn’t dial 911 and my EpiPen was defective and wouldn’t open.”
Kyle’s warning for those with bee allergies
In the end, there was a lesson in her story. She warned that people with allergies should look into how their EpiPens work, noting that she should be more diligent with hers. “I share this story with you because I sometimes don’t bother to take my EpiPen with me,” she confessed. “I also don’t know why I couldn’t get mine to work. It’s important to look on YouTube and watch the videos of how to use it.”
Turns out, Richards is doing just fine and even had the LA fire department check on her the next day, who she credits for helping her survive the attack.
