Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis has reportedly been fired from her full-time status on the show after eight seasons, according to the U.S. Sun. On Jan. 11, Dennis has confirmed her exit with Page Six, saying, “What a wild ride it’s been!”

The U.S. Sun spoke to a source close to Southern Charm production, who claimed that Bravo did not offer Dennis a new contract after treating staff poorly and no-showing multiple times during filming.

“I know Bravo didn’t offer her a contract, but when you treat people poorly like she has they finally get sick of it,” the source said. “She doesn’t show up on time or show up at all during filming a lot.”

The insider then went on to talk about how poorly she treats the staff on set.

“She treats people like they are beneath her. She can’t stand anyone doing better or getting more attention than her,” the source added.

Dennis would reportedly throw tantrums on set, and a new producer was allegedly brought in to help.

“I think that’s why a new producer was brought in; the previous one couldn’t handle it anymore,” the insider said before concluding, “I know she’s had money issues and now I don’t know how she’s going to work, she’s never had a job. I’m worried for her, but maybe this is a wake-up call.”

Kathryn Dennis comments on her departure from Southern Charm

Dennis, who started on Southern Charm in 2014 at just 21-years-old (first appearing on-set as Thomas Ravenel’s girlfriend), has commented on her departure from the reality series.

“Can you believe I was 21 when I first started filming Southern Charm back in its first season?” Dennis said in a statement to Page Six. “That was in 2013, and in the decade that followed, it’s safe to say my life changed in ways I could never imagine.

“It hasn’t always been easy, but I’m so lucky to have had reality cameras there, capturing so many moments that I’ll never forget (and a few, even, that I’d like to).”

Ultimately, Dennis says that she’s grateful for her fans that watched her “grow up” and the friendships she made that she’ll “always treasure.”

“And through it all, the love y’all have shown for me not only gave me the strength I needed to tackle it all, but helped me realize that I wasn’t alone. I’m so grateful,” Dennis added. “I’ll be carrying that love with me as I enter this next chapter of my life, away from the Southern Charm lens.”
