Is it time to say so long to Lala Kent? The Vanderump Rules star has reportedly quit the reality TV show.
On Monday Lala told TooFab that she’s done with VPR – and she didn’t even finish out the current season. According to Lala, she only filmed during the first half of season five of Vanderpump Rules.
“I made it halfway through the season and just decided that I want no part of the people anymore,” Lala said. “I feel like they don’t deserve to be in my world in any way shape or form. So I dismissed myself.”
Lala has had a rocky run on Vanderpump Rules. After joining the show in season four, she clashed with longtime star Katie Maloney – and that feud has gone into overdrive this season.
In the first few episodes of this season, we’ve seen Lala and Katie butt heads and trade insults ad nauseum. Most of the cast has sided with Katie, leaving Lala on an island with just one ally, James Kennedy, who’s likewise outs with the rest of the SUR crew.
The cast has also been gossiping about Lala dating a married man – a charge she’s denied.
While fans enjoyed seeing the drama Lala stirred up on the show, the star doesn’t seem pressed about leaving VPR behind.
“I’m excited for people to watch me exit because it’s just going to show a new side of my life and I think it will get to show people who I really am,” Kent said.
“I watch the show sometimes and I’m like that’s not me. I want people to see who I actually hang out with, my day-to-day life. And I never got to show that. I’m excited for people to watch me leave Vanderpump Rules to be quite honest.”
Since joining the show Lala landed a small role in the Nicholas Cage film Arsenal. She has also hinted in the past that she may be headed to a different reality show. When she was on Brandi Glanville’s podcast, Brandi Glanville Unfiltered, earlier this year, Lala said she would consider doing another reality show, but she would want to have a producer credit – something she’s very unlikely to get on Vanderpump Rules.
