Leo: Winnie Harlow
Toronto-born fashion model Winnie Harlow made waves back in 2014 when she was a contestant on the long-running series America’s Next Top Model. The only Canadian ever to be cast in the American show, this Leo has used her platform and celebrity to amplify awareness around the skin condition vitiligo — helping to remove the stigma of the condition affecting about one per cent of people around the world.

Talented Canadian lesbian twins are best known for their indie pop sounds. Canadian historical icon Emily Carr was an artist and writer who was best known for two main things: being one of the first settlers to chronicle life in British Columbia and being one of the first Canadian painters to do the modernist and post-impressionist thing in her art. Though her landscapes were all the rage, this Sadge started off with Indigenous themes in her paintings.

This Capricorn has been called the first superstar of modern women’s hockey. Angela James was part of the National Women’s Hockey League and earned the MVP title half a dozen times. The Hong Kong-born Canadian journalist also served as Canada’s Governer General. As a child, she experienced the Japanese invasion of her homeland, and when she took to her latter posting, she wasn’t afraid to ruffle feathers; still a controversial figure, Clarkson developed a reputation for her somewhat anti-monarchist attitude.
