I Tried These Shoppers Drug Mart Skincare Products and Here’s Why I Can’t Go Back

2:09

Skincare is a top priority for me and, when it comes to what I actually put on my skin, I’m pretty picky. I love trying new products, but I also tend to revert back to my tried, tested and true favourites.

I typically have pretty dry skin and I’m always on the hunt for skincare products that give me that year-round glow (but not greasy — you know what I mean?). I love glowing, healthy and radiant skin and these three beauty products from Shoppers Drug Mart are some of my favourites. First up, the Clarins Hydrating Gentle Foaming Cleanser, followed by Aveeno Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer and the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex.

I’ll also share some additional insider beauty tips for using these products so you get the most out of them.

Clarins Hydrating Gentle Foaming Cleanser: luxurious, gentle and makes my skin silky soft

I’ve always loved foam cleansers. It might be because I find the foam really gets into the pores and gives a deep, hydrating cleanse. Cleansing is the most important step in skincare so choose your products wisely! With this Clarins cleanser, the texture is rich, hydrating and luxurious (like a lot of their products). First, I warm it up in my fingers before working it into the skin. I then rinse it off with warm water and pat dry. The result? Soft, smooth and radiant cleansed skin.

Hot tip: Steam your face for a few minutes and cleanse with a brush at the same time to get maximum benefits!

Aveeno Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer: lightweight, soothing and quenches my dry skin

Gel moisturizers for dry skin are some of my favourites because they are lightweight and non-greasy. Have you ever put a heavy cream on before bed and found that your face sticks to the pillowcase? You won’t get that feeling with this Aveeno moisturizer. The texture is soft and light as air. It’s great for dry skin, which is perfect for me. It’s soothing, hydrating and I feel it keeps my skin moisturized and comfortable all day long. A huge bonus is that this Aveeno face moisturizer is free of fragrance, parabens and phthalates.

Hot tip: Use a Gua Sha tool right after application to circulate blood flow and increase radiance!

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex: repair, restore and wake up with glowing skin

If I had one major beauty secret to share with you, it would be that I just use serum after cleansing for a week to give my skin a break. This not only helps your skin breathe, but sometimes a minimalist skincare routine is better. Serum has plenty of hydrating benefits and, if you’re a lazy girl like me, this is the way to go. I always have a bottle of Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair (ANR) in my skincare bag because it does everything I need at night.

The bottle is classic, beautiful and Instagram-worthy, which embodies this luxurious serum perfectly. The texture is beautiful and it glides on the skin. After one application, it makes my skin look more radiant and plump. My mom and I have been using this Estée Lauder ANR for years and it’s one that we never go without. She even says it’s one of her favourites for fine lines and wrinkles (and she doesn’t have many, so I’m going to stick with her suggestions!)

Hot tip: Google “Tanaka face massage” and give your skin an instant lift by doing this daily after applying the Estée Lauder serum!

Final thoughts

Overall, I love all these skincare products from Shoppers Drug Mart. It’s basically an easy three-step skincare routine you can try — especially for dry winter skin. As a bonus, these items range in price to suit your budget. Personally, I would definitely keep these items in my skincare arsenal, especially during the colder months. Who doesn’t love products that help get us through to spring?
