My favourite fall activities range from visiting the pumpkin patch, shopping for all the chunky knit sweaters and cozying up to watch horror movies — but the one thing that remains constant through every activity is having a cup of Starbucks in my hand. My local Starbucks can expect to see me bright and early the day the fall menu launches, however, as much as I gravitate towards grabbing a PSL “for the culture.” it’s truthfully not my favourite Starbucks fall drink.
I’ve been on a (slightly expensive) hunt to find the perfect fall Starbucks drink and through a copious number of caffeinated beverages and odd flavour combinations, I have finally narrowed down the top three drinks you need to try before the season’s over. Disclaimer: there’s a lot of love for pumpkin coming up.

#1: Starbucks Iced Chai Latte with Pumpkin Cream Cold Foam
Coming in at the top of my list, if Starbucks decided to carry Pumpkin flavours year-round, this would be my new go-to everyday drink. I almost didn’t want to continue my search after trying this, because I had decided no other drink could beat this.
The iced chai is such a subtle, smooth drink on its own, making it the perfect option to throw pumpkin cold foam over. Top it off with cinnamon powder, and you’ll feel like you’ve just hacked the Starbucks fall menu.

#2: Starbucks Brown Sugar White Mocha
As soon as the weather drops under 10 degrees, I start ordering nothing but a White Chocolate Mocha with almond milk. It seemed like an obvious choice to experiment with such a staple drink. Here’s what I did: a grande white mocha, two pumps of brown sugar syrup, light whipped cream and cinnamon powder on top.
The white mocha brings in a hint of sweetness to make this taste delicious, but it’s not overpowering and can still double as a solid drink for those looking for a pick-me-up to help them function throughout the day.

#3: Starbucks Iced Pumpkin Macchiato
Caramel naturally feels like more of a “warm” flavour to me, so I looked at the typical iced caramel macchiato and tried to break down where I could make the drink feel a little less like a summer option. Here’s what you’re going to order: an iced caramel macchiato, sub the vanilla syrup for three pumps of pumpkin sauce, caramel drizzle and pumpkin spice topping.
On first taste, it was overwhelmingly sweet, but once it got a nice, vigorous shake to let the sauce disperse, I realized this was one of my finer choices. It’s a sweet and fun coffee option, and bonus points for the fact that it’s pretty to look at.
Before you run off to place your Starbucks order, let me part with one piece of advice: no matter what the internet says, and no matter what sauces you add, an iced triple latte is not the answer, especially in the evening. Learn from my mistakes – you’ll be jumping off the walls all day. Happy sipping!
