We may be in the midst of awards season but the first show, the Golden Globes, is indicative of what we will see at the Oscars in five short weeks. Yes, it’s the movies and series that are the stars but we’re also paying close attention to the fashion.
All the celebrities got dolled up and while some were hits, there were also a fair share of misses. Let’s take a gander, shall we?

Best: Jennifer Aniston
Aniston tends to gravitate to LBDs yet she still finds a way to make each one unique. Another winner.

Best: Awkwafina
Sophisticated, dreamy and fantastically feminine, her take on the tuxedo is oh-so-right.

Best: Tiffany Haddish
There wasn't too much pink on the red carpet, so Haddish was a breath of fresh, awesome air.

Best: Billy Porter
WIthout the feathery train, this would've been amazing. But with it, it's freakin' fabulous.

Best: Kirsten Dunst
The blush shade is exquisite but the delicate embroidery makes it extraordinary.

The one-shoulder cape adds an intricacy to an otherwise plain dress, taking it to another level.

Best: Roman Griffin Davis
This may be his first awards show (hell, Jojo Rabbit is his first-ever ANYTHING), but he certainly knew how to dress for it. Dapper little dude.

Best: Ana de Armas
If you happened to catch her in Knives Out, for which she is nominated, her beauty was downplayed as she spent much of the movie in a whatever sweater and nondescript pants. Take her to first Golden Globes, however, and watch her shine.

Worst: Gwyneth Paltrow
The poop brown swaths of material were brought together in this "dress" that pays homage to Princess Leia's Return of the Jedi bikini.

Worst: Jennifer Lopez
It's like Alex Rodriguez was in the middle of wrapping her, they saw the time, realized they were running late, and figured, what the hell, and left partially finished.

Worst: Kerry Washington
Because she's wearing neither a top or a bra, the nearly hip-high slit is a little extra.

Worst: Jodie Comer
She could've fit the entire cast of Killing Eve under this tent.

While the colour was a red carpet standout, the fact that it's a jumpsuit made it a game-changer. In a sudden death kinda way. Oh, wait, did we say sudden death? We meant dead. Just dead.

The black component is fine, sure, but that white part across the bust just cuts it, then kills it.

Worst: Janina Gavankar
The splash of blue is great but because is splashing on those pillowcase puffs, it's not as much of a winner as it could've been. And don't even get us started on the see-through skirts.

Worst: Joey King
If you're into dresses that are akin to acid trips, then Joey's is the one for you. If it's not, well, then, look away. Unless you've already tripped out.

Priyanka is lovely but her husband. Oh, Nick. His suits are always too shiny, or too tight, or too short — or all of the above, like this double-breasted gem.

Worst: Charlize Theron
There's something off-putting about the green with the black, or perhaps it's that the black corset and scarf-y train bit shouldn't have been there at all.
